The Canadian government has launched another exciting community initiative to help people immigrate to Canada! The New Yukon Community Pilot is a new Canadian immigration pathway, launched in January 2020 under the Yukon Nominee Program, which allows foreign workers to live and work in Canada without a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).  This means faster processing and an opportunity to Work in Canada for up to 2 years!

This new pilot will run for 3 years and is designed to help boost the local economy of seven participating Yukon communities.

• Carcross

Yukon is located in northwestern Canada and is the smallest of Canada’s three territories. Life in the Yukon Territory moves at a slower pace in most Canadian provinces and the cost of living can be considerably higher, however the higher wage offerings more than make up the difference. For example, the median hourly wage in Whitehorse, Yukon is $25.50 compared to the national average which is around $16 per hour. 

About the New Yukon Community Pilot, Am I eligible?

To be eligible to apply to immigrate to Yukon Canada thought of the new Yukon Community Pilot you will have to meet the following requirements:

• Have 2-3 eligible job offers in one of the participating communities;
• Have relevant work experience;
• Have a letter of support signed by the Yukon Government; Y
• Be eligible for a work permit.

To be considered eligible, your job offers must:

• Be non-seasonal;
• Add up to 30 hours a week, that is. join a full-time job;
• Pay minimum wage ($13.71 per hour or more).
