Nova Scotia – Canadian province of Maritimes

The province has the Nova Scotia region, Cape Breton Island plus 3,000 smaller islands. The capital city of Halifax is a major center for culture and arts.

The NSNP is Nova Scotia’s own managed Provincial Nominee Program. This self-run program it selects prospective immigrants with the required skillset and work experience. Such international citizens may receive a Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program Certificate. 

NSNP covers applications under the immigration streams like:

Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry 

Nova Scotia taps into the federal government’s Express Entry selection process, in order to invite eligible candidates for Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry program.

This stream was introduced on January 1, 2015 for highly-skilled individuals having post-secondary level qualifications, that will help them settle in the province. There is a further list of 11 eligible occupations for this stream.

Nova Scotia Experience Class:

Nova Scotia uses the Express Entry immigration system, to select candidates for the above stream.

It also provides an easy pathway to permanent residency status for the skilled applicants with experience of a Nova Scotia employer for at least one year.

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities 

The Nova Scotia Market Priorities Stream is designed for candidates who meet the labor market needs. The skilled occupations are dynamically created and can change with each invitation round. 

Skilled Worker Stream 

The The NSNP accepts applications individuals who have received an employment offer from a Nova Scotia-based employer. Workers in such categories may be from skilled, semi-skilled, and low-skilled occupations to be eligible to apply.

Occupations In-Demand Stream 

The Occupations in-Demand Stream is an immigration process designed for National Occupational Register (NOC) Skill Level C-related jobs.

Entrepreneurs Stream

This Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program covers the Entrepreneur Stream for new and existing business development. Further, it is specially designed to attract individuals who want to expand or acquire an existing business to settle permanently in Nova Scotia province.

International Graduates Entrepreneur Stream 

The International Graduates Entrepreneur category is open for the benefit of graduates with a minimum of two years of study from a recognized Nova Scotia university or Community College. Such young entrepreneurs must have operated their own businesses in Nova Scotia provinces for a period of one year.

Physicians Stream

The Physicians Stream is for attracting international general medical practitioners and specialist physicians with employment offer from the healthcare authorities of the province.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programs 

Nova Scotia is one of four Atlantic provinces of Canada. It aims on working in partnership with Canada’s Federal Government to recruit international workers for jobs in Atlantic Canada. It is important that these jobs are not been filled locally.

International citizens interested in participating in this Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program may be outside of the nation or on temporary status in Canada.

All applicants to the pilot must have job offer from a designated employer that meets the requirements of the program.
